Personal Touch
Fun logo design I created for myself — includes my signature and sunshine emblem. Over the years, I accumulated the nickname “Sunshine” as it refers to my long, blonde, curly hair and bubbly personality! (:

2D/3D Miniature Paper Environment Scene (with characters)
This project challenged us to investigate multi-layered, multi-level dimensional pictorial design (i.e.: a miniature stage set, a popup book, a light box, or a shoebox diorama) as a means of presenting a narrative storyline. We had to successfully transition a pictorial graphic concept from 2D to functional 3D paper or mixed media construction, and explore the concepts of character and place as components of a narrative storyline theme. I got the chance to investigate three-dimensional paper construction design and advanced assembly processes via 3D laser cutter.
This was a hybrid media project using programs: Illustrator, Photoshop, and traditional media — which included 2D and 3D design processes. The main objective was to form a three-dimensional pictorial piece and tell a story.
My inspiration for this project came from my wanting to create something with the essence of clouds and to bring about a strong emotional appeal. My mind drifted into the thought of flying, and then to remembering my favorite movie as a child: Disney’s Peter Pan. I’ve always loved the dreamy, playful aesthetic of the film and decided I wanted to recreate this feeling. To get the point across that Peter Pan was the inspiration, I made London my setting and incorporated Big Ben, who makes a strong appearance in the movie. Also, what I’ve hidden in the sky are the two stars that lead the young children to the magical world of Neverland.
Taking into consideration that aesthetics of Peter Pan were at night, I started to think about how I would want to set up my landscape. A specific nighttime scene from Disney’s Lady & The Tramp captured the mood I was looking for. I based my top layer after the romantically lit moment of Lady & Tramp’s date night; I loved the use of blues and I created my own hues to make it unique.

Package Design Collaboration
In an effort to be unique, three promising 'companies' came together to create the Disney Movie Pack under the influence and product line of The Walt Disney Company. LAUVVA provided the delicately packaged gourmet sweets to engage us with the gift of delicious joy, Whitley Paige presented a new line of classical furniture decor to ensure we lounge in comfort and style, and B.R.CREATIONS introduced a new charming appeal to the design of three of Disney's classical princess movie covers. The intention of this collaboration was to remind the public that The Walt Disney Company provides for both children and adults alike. With this Disney Movie Pack, older audiences will be able to experience the magic once more, but this time with the essence of feeling like royalty along with the classical collection.

Hand Reflecting Disney
This Photoshop work is a recreation of the famous lithograph print, “Hand with Reflecting Sphere,” by the Dutch artist M.C. Escher. How this project came to be was from the instruction from my high school art teacher who told us to find a famous artwork and manipulate it making it our own. I knew I wanted something different, something comical. In the past I drew similar sketches to those of Escher’s work, “Convex and Concave.” I remembered his style and being intrigued by his use of different perspectives, and looked up some of his well-known artworks. Once I caught sight of “Hand with Reflecting Sphere,” I knew right away what I wanted to change. From the Walt Disney animated movie “Tangled,” the rugged charismatic hero, Flynn Rider, was the first character I thought of to humorously replace the older man in the image. Rider’s most popular ladies look, The Smolder, perfectly gives off the impression of a man checking himself out in the mirrored orb. Once Rider was a part of the picture, I felt the work needed to include something else to be totally unique. I thought about Disney once more, thinking of another character to insert. Who else better to accommodate Flynn Rider than Darth Vader? Someone needs to keep that thief in check… Can you see him?

Simultaneous Contrast and Shape Investigation
This assignment allowed us to explore an extended application of color theory. By designing 3 different designs, we demonstrated how a mid-value tertiary color — BG, YG, RP, RO, YO or PB — can be effected by its surrounding colors in 3 different ways: Value, Temperature, and Intensity.

How Does Artwork Last Forever?
I enjoy viewing photography, taking photos, and being the subject for picture-taking. For this project, I wanted to create a work on a more serious level than my past compositions. Dramatic lighting in a picture creates many shadows which gives the work a deeper, darker effect. So after selecting a portrait of myself with enough shadows and darkness to get my point across, I needed to choose quotes or phrases to make up the image that would flow hand-in-hand with the mood of the work. My favorite song, “How Does a Moment Last Forever” by Celine Dion, seemed like the perfect fit. The song has a slow, graceful tune; it moves me with its powerful lyrics and makes me remember what’s most important: love. I definitely wanted to share this feeling, and I hope my expression is captivating enough to draw viewers closer and feel a strong emotion when they see this piece.

Only In Your Dreams
Where have your dreams taken you? Have you ever been a member of royalty, gazing out and looking down below from your tower? Or maybe you’ve been the captain of a floating pirate ship and sailed the seven skies? Dreams have a way of allowing us to escape reality and live freely with hardly any boundaries. I have constructed multiple fantasy worlds in my mind, all of which are as colorful and wild as the next. The one I’ve created in this Photoshop piece combines contrasting worlds: a civil castle in a remote, mountainous location and an unsettling, notorious pirate plan sailing through the breeze. This piece may have viewers finding resemblances between it and various motion pictures. Many films played a major role in the design process; creating the fantasy world has really pushed me to get in touch with my inner child side. Where will your dreams take you?
